Exchange rates define a lot of economic development of the countries. The exchange rate between the two of the big countries has always been a fascination.

From last year, the Euro exchange rate (EURUSD) decreased by 7.42 percent. The EURUSD exchange rate has witnessed drastic ups and downs in the past with its greatest increase of 1.60 in the year 2008 and the lowest recorded of 0.64 in 1985. The details of exchange rate of Euro spot are important as it defines the value of one currency, the EUR, with respect to the other currency, the USD. The Euro forward rate is different from the exchange rate of Euro Spot as the latter is exchanged and quoted on the very same day while the former has a specific future date for delivery and payment if the rate is quoted today.

In May 2010, Euro has seen the lowest rate against dollar, i.e. 1 Euro equals 1.2162 dollars, which is lowest since April 17, 2006. The values of exchange rate have always been above the critical value of 0.86 which was recorded in September 2000. Despite the improvement in Euro, experts are predicting a downfall in the trend in the coming time.

The EUR/USD rates are extremely important to read as the changes occurring have serious impact and shows a lot of different growth and interest rate expectations for the United States of America and the Euro places. In the beginning, as when US economy had a growth of 2.5% in 2010s first quarter, the European expanded by only 0.5%. Experts expect that the financial events in the continent will slow down the economy further. The rate expectations are very much different for the FED and the ECB and also experts suggests the exchange rate of EUR/USD to witness a downfall during the year.
